Sculpture art and Media art
Minseok Kang’s Meta-Space Project is a unique artistic experiment that traverses the boundary between reality and the virtual realm.
The project begins in a meta-space devoid of physical substance and unfolds through the process of imitating selected objects from the real world. Using traces and fragments of acrylic paint, the artist creates abstract, virtual ice creams—forms that do not exist in physical reality. By combining the material characteristics of paint with the remnants of his gestures, he constructs works that inhabit an entirely new dimensional space.
In this meta-space, the ice cream cannot be touched or tasted, yet the viewer experiences the work through memory and imagination. Without the sensorial experience available in reality, the viewer recalls the texture, flavor, and scent of ice cream solely through personal recollection and imaginative projection. Through this, Minseok Kang invites the audience to reconnect with past joy and nostalgia, transforming the ice cream into an eternal form of memory that never melts.
